Hey, well for anyone that has or has ever had a subscription
and anyone that does or has done comissions
would you please answer a few questions about them for me??
I would really appreciate it :D~

Subscription questions:
1. Do you really get more pageviews and art views?
2. Is there any other benefits from having a subscription? Or is it just so we pay subscription and we dont really get anything special out of it?
3. If your a really unknown artist (like myself) will this really boost my views and such?

Commission Questions:
1. How do you send/give the person their art? Though post, email or something else?
2. How do you set the prices?
3. How do you go abouts with payment? Cheques? Paypal? Or something else?

Yep, thats all I can think of asking at the moment :D~
I mean they are probably really noobish questions, but I have never done any commission work before haha so I thought I would ask :)~
I would really appreciate it you could answer any of these, I mean you do not need to answer them all!!
Thank you!! :)~

A subbie is great for customising your profile and journal, to make it more personal. People will look at your page if you have a * or = in front on your username... they wonder what your page is like, and that you're really serious/passionate about DA :D When I had a sub, I think it did increase pageviews/favs.. but it's not something I'm looking for. Nowadays, there are loads of exclusive features for subscribers, like beta-testing... just making a page "better" looking.

Commissions? Simple! :D Traditional art = mail the artwork to customer, digital art = give them a download link of the full resolution image. Paypal is the quickest option, and you should price your artwork by hours/size you needed.

I see other people explained it better, but I'm glad to help. :meow:

Hehe, thank you for answer either way ~
Hmm thats put a different look to it,
nah I will admit I do want a few more views and stuff, just so maybe I could start commissions, but yeah its not the only thing Im looking for just wondering if they actually made a proper difference hehe~

Ah see that didnt even come to mind about the download link haha xD~
Thank you again :D~

No problem at all, I'm glad my comment helped. :)

There's a group called #GetWatchers, you must've heard of it. Apparently joining it really does increase your pagesviews and maybe favs.. hugely! I haven't joined though, I prefer to be in the shadows a bit. XD

Haha yeah I have,
I tried it but after 5 minutes left,
'cause I didnt like the way it got you views and faves haha ^^;.
I prefer doing it the long way and myself if that makes sense,
instead of kind of forcefully getting them 'ya know :D~

I'm intrigued. How did the GetWatchers group get more favs for the member? I understand how it gets you more pageviews. :D
Oh did it feel artificial? Yeah, that's what scares me about that kind of group. The llama badge thing was like that too. :O

Well, I didnt follow through with it but you go on a GetWatchers web thing that they linked on dA,
which takes you to random deviants art work or pages that have joined the Group.
Circle though them either randomly favouriting or commenting to gain 'Credit' so you get more faves and so on,
so yeah it would have felt artificial if I'd have followed though with the group and done any of that rubbish, seems so fake D:~
Plus after a literally seconds of join I got spam messeges/notes from people saying 'Look at my page' or 'Look at my art!!' so it was an instant hate for the group after that haha :XD~

OMG! Seems quite clever of them in a scheming way - they must be like -> :evillaugh: when hatching this plan. Hopefully the other people will become bored of this chore too.
Ahh, thanks for warning me. I can imagine these people when they are drawing, they must be thinking "oh I don't have to even try hard at this". :explosion:

So you think DA should ban this group?

Hahahah, its true and yeah I hope others will too,
though people seem happy about doing it because I guess it the easiest way of
'getting popular'........
I have no idea whether it should be banned or not,
I dont think its against the rules or anything, as its just a different way of getting watchers, faves and stuff (however forced it seems)
and were the masses 'love' it so much I dont think they will....:hmm:

ah, well I hope my answers can help :)
1. I haven't really noticed more page or art views from having a subby :/
2. I know it's not really a big deal but I rather like having no adverts and being able to browse 150 per page and journal layouts and such, they're really just small perks I don't pay much attention to what I'm given T.T
3. Honestly, I don't think subs do much in the way of boosting views and such... to me submitting art in clubs and being featured by other artists is a big help though :)

Commission Questions:
1. I've sent through the post and email before. I just let them decide but hard copy is usually what they pay for so that's what they get :)
2. I think that's just personal preference and dependent on what you've been commissioned for. For example I've had a portrait commission that was rather large (11x14) so I needed to set the price higher than I normally would. Alot of the time its in the range of 20-40$ depending on size, subject, medium etc... I guess it all depends on what you believe is a fair price for your work. Then add on whatever shipping would be on top of your commission price.
3. I know sending money through post isn't safe but I've done it ^^; paypal is best, but much of the time ppl don't have paypal so I try to work it out with them.

Ah cool. So from answers I've got, subbs are quite useless haha xD~Its good to know before I got one hah :)~
Everything youve said has been a really big help,
and makes commission stuff sound much less hard to do now haha xD~
Thank you again, I appreciate it  :D~
